Cheap Flights Arriving at JFK International Airport

Cheap Flight, New York, John F Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, Newark Airport, Manhattan, UKAs you fly over the glorious and beautiful waves of the Atlantic Ocean, happily enjoying every moment of your amazingly cheap and affordable flight, you will probably be landing at the most popular of the New York Airports, New York's JFK International airport.

New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, or as most of us call it, simply "JFK", was of course named after the late US President, John F. Kennedy. This International Airport is located in Queens County, New York. It is conveniently located only about 12 miles from Manhattan. At present Jet Blue has its base of operations here, but it has been in the news as of late that they may be relocating their operations main hub to Florida's Orlando airport. American Airlines and Delta Air Lines are two other major airlines at JFK Airport. A total of ninety airlines operate out of JFK. Now after you get off of your plane, don't automatically think of calling a yellow cab. It is not only expensive and even sometimes dangerous, but the ride is nowhere near as fun as the train. If you have never been to New York City you may not understand why I say dangerous, but trust me, it's a dangerous cab ride! New Yorkers are not exactly known to be slow drivers, in fact, everything they do is fast! I think train rides are just a LOT safer than driving cars in New York City, and JFK has recently completed an extensive railway system that encircles JFK called "AirTrain". And just like the subway, AirTrain runs 24/7. Travel to and from JFK via AirTrain is only $5 as you enter or exit the system. Children under 5 ride free.

AirTrain is a fast and economical way to get to Manhattan, and its FUN! These are brand new trains that link up not only each airline at JFK, but also take you to The Jamaica Station where you can link up to the clean and superbly kept trains of the Long Island Railroad. The Long Island Railroad will quickly and quietly take you to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, or even to the Bronx if you want to catch a baseball game at the World Champion New York Yankees spanking brand new stadium.

If you do happen to catch a cheap flight from the UK to New York and land at LaGuardia Airport, you will be even closer to all the action. You will not be as intimidated at New York's LaGuardia Airport as you would be at JFK because it is much smaller, and it is only about 8 miles from Manhattan. There are only four main terminals at LaGuardia Airport. First there is the

Central Terminal Building
The Central Terminal Building (CTB) is the largest of the four terminals and is 1,300 feet long and 180 feet wide. It is about six blocks long with a four-story central section. Secondly, there is the

US Airways Terminal
The US Airways Terminal is a 12-gate terminal connected to the airline's Shuttle Terminal and has both food and retail concessions courts. The US Airways Shuttle Terminal provides shuttle flights every hour for flights going to Boston and Washington, D.C. Then, Thirdly there is the

Delta Air Lines Terminal
The Delta Air Lines Terminal was constructed by Delta Air Lines at the east end of the airport. Delta has ten aircraft gate positions. Northwest Airlines also operates out of this terminal. Lastly there is the

Marine Air Terminal
The Marine Air Terminal is the original airport terminal building. In 1995, the Marine Air Terminal was made into a historic landmark. On September 1, 1991, Delta started shuttle operations to Boston and Washington, D.C. here. The terminal also has a private weather service.

Unfortunately there is no AirTrain as yet serving New York's LaGuardia Airport. There are, however, plenty of cabs and limos that will gladly take you to busy downtown New York City.

I am sure that you already know how expensive the hotels are in New York City, don't you? However, a cheap alternative is to stay just outside the airport you flew into. If you flew into JFK there are a number of hotels MUCH cheaper than those in the city, and they are just a few miles away from the city. The same goes for New York's LaGuardia Airport, why not save some additional money on your hotel, and not just on your cheap flight from the UK?

Now after your trip to New York is over and you are flying back home to the UK, you will have many wonderful memories to cherish, not to mention saving a few bucks from booking that amazingly cheap flight you found.
